The Proposal

DAY 1

After meeting online and sharing a polite exchange, we decided to meet someplace halfway (sort of). Jen suggested Café One East in Warner, NH, a lovely little café off I-89, Exit 8. We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to grab dinner at The Barley House in Concord, NH. When saying good-bye, Scott invited Jen out for date #2!

DAYS 7 AND 14

It wasn’t long before we started seeing each other pretty regularly. Jen was taken by the fact that Scott carefully planned their dates with actual activities, like candlepin bowling (date #2) and a Fisher Cats baseball game (date #3).

DAY 56

By June 2021, we started traveling together, starting with New York City. Jen met Natalie and John for the first time at the 12 Chairs Café in Soho. Now Jen knew it would be just as easy to fall in love with Scott’s kids as it was to fall in love with Scott. ❤️

DAY 104

Our first international trip was to Italy (of course) in the summer of 2021, a truly magical time in our relationship. Scott was the perfect ‘tour guide’ for Jen, having been to Italy many times while Jen was enjoying Italy for the first time. DAY 133

Our trip to Wisconsin to visit Rachel and Jack brought us to Madison, probably the cutest little city we’ve ever been to. So many great places to eat, walk, and shop, but the highlight was seeing these two. We are absolutely thrilled that they decided to move back east and are now living just outside of Providence, RI…another great city to visit!

DAY 215

Jen’s first holiday with Scott’s family was Thanksgiving hosted by Lynne and John. Anyone who has been to Lynne and John’s knows you’ll be eating great food and you’ll feel most welcome. We love you guys, and thank you warmly for opening your hearts to Jen, and even encouraging her to bring her sister, which she did!

DAY 232

On our 3rd trip to New York City, we received a phone call en route from our Real Estate Agent telling us our offer on a house had been accepted! When we arrived in NYC and parked our car near our favorite Italian restaurant, La Piccola Cucina, we looked at what was painted on the building directly adjacent to our parking spot. We were feeling very lucky indeed!

DAY 279

This was a day for celebration! On this day we closed on your new home. By now we had already made so many wonderful memories, and now we had the joy of creating memories in our own home. Every day in our house has been a blessing.

DAY 296

On this day Jen received the best birthday present ever! On a beautiful day in Buenos Aires on the Río Dique Scott popped the question! Needless to say, Jen was pretty surprised and positively ecstatic! (Watch the video above) ↑

DAY 519

Our 3rd big international trip was to France where we spent 9 days exploring some of France’s most beautiful towns and villages. We started our journey in Paris, drove down to Provence, and finished in the French Riviera.

DAY 577

Not the best picture, but we wanted to document our first holiday hosted at 26 Lang Road. We were thrilled that all 4 of Scott’s kids could make it! Only one of mine did, Isabella, but now that Rachel is back east we will be seeing more of her ;-). The best part of getting married are the families we inherit along with each other!

DAY 663

February 2023 brought our 4th international trip, this time to Spain. During our stay, we spent 2 nights in Segovia where we saw the Alcázar de Segovia, a medieval castle dating back to the 12th century. It’s one of the most renowned medieval castles globally and one of the most visited landmarks in Spain. It is said that Walt Disney based Cinderella’s castle on this landmark.

DAY 777

Another activity Scott and Jen enjoy together is catching a show when visiting New York City. We’ve seen some good and some not-so-good, but we really enjoyed Hadestown, written by a Vermonter from Montpelier, Anaïs Mitchell.

DAY 829

This timeline wouldn’t be complete without a shot from Nicole and Aaron’s absolutely incredible, beautiful, fun, monumental wedding in Ravello, Italy! What a joy it was to experience, and our hearts melted listening to the beautiful vows Aaron and Nicole wrote for each other. 🥲

DAY 831

Spending time with this group in Italy was priceless. All that was missing were Nicole and Aaron who were busy celebrating their new life together. We are so grateful for you “kids,” all of you, and we can’t wait to see what you do with your lives. You are wonderful!

DAY 862

Whether we’re traveling the country, the world, or our own backyard, one thing is clear: we are happy as long as we are together. Aaron put it best in his vows to Nicole when he said, “I notice the comfort we find in each other’s presence that makes anywhere we are together feel like home.” Well said, Aaron ❤️.

DAY 980

Spending the day with these four beauties hunting for the perfect wedding gown was priceless! As if trying on one gorgeous wedding dress on after another wasn’t enough, spending time with these four was even better! And let’s face it, when it comes to fashion and all-things-weddings, these ladies are the professionals! And Jen could use all the help she can get! Grazie mille, mie bellissime figlie!

DAY 1,037

Italy is becoming our “home away from home.” This being our 3rd time to Italy together, we explored much of Tuscany and part of Umbria, and even checked out our wedding venue (see video on this page) as well as the Welcome Party Venue, Poggio Grande (this page).
